Burçak Bignöl’s works challenge the accepted canons of contemporary art by adopting a medium, ceramics, and typical floral patterns which are often avoided. Presenting four works of two different periods of her production allows us to appreciate her reflection on these and her personal research into the essence of the material. Her own interest and research into a past, lost, identity is combined with an acute awareness that making it surface might just be the only way to discuss its flaws.
